OMAR S. DEGHIDY
Associate Attorney
Omar Deghidy is an Associate in the Firm's employee
benefits practice. Mr. Deghidy primarily represents employee
benefit plans in a variety of legal and transactional matters, in
both the public and private sectors. His practice consists of
counseling plans providing benefits to construction workers,
mineworkers, service workers, and union staff, as well as
firefighters, police, and other emergency personnel.
Prior to joining Mooney Green, Mr. Deghidy was an associate at a
construction-business law firm in Fairfax, VA, where he advised on
general contracts, operating agreements, and client representation
on a wide variety of business and construction law related
matters. Mr. Deghidy began his legal career as a legal fellow at
The Employment Law Group, where he assisted with client
representation on a variety of employment law matters, including
discrimination, whistleblower protection, and fraud.
Mr. Deghidy graduated cum laude from George Mason University in
2016, majoring in Accounting and Finance, and earned his J.D. from
the George Washington University Law School in 2021. Mr. Deghidy
is also currently pursuing his Taxation LLM at the Georgetown
University Law Center. While in law school, he served as an
associate for the George Washington International Law Review and a
certified legal intern in the George Washington University Law
School's Domestic Violence Project Clinic. Mr. Deghidy also spent
a few semesters during law school as an intern with the Public
Company Accounting Oversight Board, the United States Securities
and Exchange Commission, and the World Bank Group.
