PATRICIA RICE
Employee Benefits Specialist*
With nearly 30 years in the employee benefits
industry, Patricia Rice has deep knowledge and extensive
experience of all facets of health and welfare and pension plan
compliance and administration.
On an on-going basis, she is responsible for keeping abreast of
emerging legislation and guidance affecting both pension and
health and welfare funds. With respect to Taft-Hartley health and
welfare funds, she is expert in all aspects of plan compliance
with the Internal Revenue Code, ERISA, HIPAA, the Affordable Care
Act, Taft-Hartley and other federal laws governing employee
benefit plans.
Her role with the firm includes the drafting of governing plan
documents and summary plan descriptions, assisting in the
preparation of government forms, preparation of notices in
conformance with all reporting and disclosure requirement, review
of fund policies and procedures such as trustee expense policies,
enrollment forms and procedures, and delinquency procedures,
drafting participant communication and fund newsletters. Ms. Rice
also assists fund office staff in plan interpretation, participant
issues and appeals.
Ms. Rice previously worked at O'Donnell, Schwartz & Anderson,
P.C., which she joined in 1988 after serving for nine years as a
consultant for an international employee benefits consulting firm.
