Mary W. Thuell focuses her practice on advising employee benefit plans, particularly multiemployer plans, on a range of compliance issues, including fiduciary obligations, tax qualification, and plan design and documentation. She began her legal career in private practice in the field of employee benefits in Washington, D.C. In addition to her employee benefits work, Ms. Thuell established her own practice, Legacy Law Firm, providing estate planning, probate, and small business services before joining the Firm.

Ms. Thuell earned her law degree from the Catholic University's Columbus School of Law in 2012, where she was awarded the John L. Garvey faculty award for the highest academic average in the day division as well as the Nell Hennessy Employee Benefits Scholar award. She is originally from Scottsdale, Arizona and earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Legal Studies at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.
